Let's Rank the Mission: Impossible Movies

Though this might feel like a truly impossible mission, we are going to try to rank the Mission: Impossible series.

Ranking the Mission: Impossible franchise feels wrong, but we’ve chosen to accept this seemingly impossible mission for the good of film and to not let down the President of Movies himself, Tom Cruise.

Besides, ranking the Mission: Impossible films is a joyous task. It’s so fun to see these particular rankings thrown out there by other astute IMF aficionados because each list feels personal and varied. You could truly make the case for ranking any Mission: Impossible movie as the best, and the rest of the list comes down to your own feelings about each individual film and what really stands out to you on your two-thousandth rewatch.

There aren’t many franchises where you could make that statement. Star Wars is certainly close, but ranking Star Wars movies just isn’t nearly as fun and sharing your list with other people is a hellscape that’ll make you wish you never saw any of the movies in the first place.
